Our RSE Parent Teacher Association (PTA) allows you that opportunity to

• be more involved in Rooster Springs Elementary and the education of your child
• learn more about the school and the programs that we offer
• provide input into decisions and programs that affect your children

PTA provides opportunities to meet and to talk with other parents who have the same worries as you. You will connect with parents that have been living in the Dripping Springs area for many years, as well as those that just moved in, perhaps, "yesterday!" By sharing common concerns, you will feel more empowered to do the tough job of parenting. Being part of PTA results in parental support and makes school involvement easier to do and easier to understand.

Studies have shown that membership in PTA provides your child and other children around you with a greater chance of achieving in school. As a PTA member, you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent, enjoying enhanced communication through the email updates, newsletters, and website updates.

Ultimately, PTA provides the opportunity to serve, to volunteer and to contribute to the welfare of all RSE children. Whether you have a ton of time or no time at all, PTA will introduce you to a great variety of new activities and opportunities to share your special talents as well as support important enrichment programs.

WE WANT YOU TO JOIN RSE PTA! Membership is open to everyone, costs just $10.00 and includes membership in the RSE, Texas, and National PTAs.

How to become a member?

1. Complete the Membership Form included in the Meet the Teacher packet or print a Membership Form and submit with your check.
2. A volunteer coordinator will contact you based on your interests indicated on your form. You may also directly contact the committee you are interested in.

Why join?

1. Stay “in the know” with our email updates and monthly meetings that talk about all the important issues that our school is facing.

2. Assist parents with resources on topics, ranging from bullying to helping your child prepare for testing.

3. Make connections and friends with others who share your concern for our children and education.

4. Hone your skills. Are you great at organizing, managing budgets or motivating others? PTA gives you the opportunity to use what you know, try new things and develop your skills.

5. Suggest changes at our school and be involved in making them happen.

6. Be a part of the solution. PTA has been a driving force in establishing school lunch programs, after-school programs and community-wide safety initiatives. You can play a part in improving the world for your child.

7. Be a role model, showing your child how much you value education through your involvement with PTA. You will also teach your child about giving back to the community.
