Art Appreciation Enrichment

Timeframe: 4 Projects for 2011-2012 school year, October, November, January & February
The theme of the Rooster Springs Elementary
award-winning PTA Art Enrichment Program allows
students use various mediums
and techniques while learning about the works
of four artists. The curriculum consists of four
art projects during the school year with adaptable
lesson plans for all grade levels. Each student
creates his or her own masterpiece and is exposed
to cultural context, facts about the artist, art
vocabulary, and color theory all packaged in a
DVD format for each lesson.
">How Can You Get
Involved Art Docent Volunteers: The docents must
attend the Docent Training Workshop
before each project, where they learn details
about the project and actually complete the project
themselves. These sessions equip the docents with
the tools and lesson plans needed to instruct
the students.
Helping Hands: These volunteer parents
assist the Docents with the project. Helping Hand
volunteers do not attend the Docent Training Workshops.
